“The Overlook was exceptional. Literally exactly what we were hoping for!! The home is beautiful, comfortable, peaceful and those views...unbeatable. Absolutely loved the wrap around porch, whether clear or even if it is a rainy day, this spot is so cozy and perfect. And the birds!!! I love bird watching and there are so many species living here. There were a few I had never seen, we let the owner ( Chris) know that he should get a bird book for visitors! As a host, he was fantastic already, but took it to the next level when he actually ordered the bird book and had it delivered to the house for our stay!! That is next level service!! We wanted a quiet place with views, to write and relax. This Fit the bill to a T. We also explored nearby Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk ( awesome gym at Peak Fitness there). “Book this!! We loved every moment of our time here and were so sad to leave. It’s a huge home with beautiful views from the entire main floor so it was the perfect spot for our family to vacation. Everyone had their own space and we could so easily get amazing views just from sitting on the couch so all family members could enjoy the mountains even if they weren’t able to go out hiking with us. The house is perfectly setup with instructions every step of the way. Chris was such a great host to work with, highly recommend! The pool table downstairs was a fun addition and we made great use out of it on one of our rainy days. Even in the rain though we got a cool view of the clouds from the place! The small gestures are what always stand out to me. So when Chris informed us he had a dozen local farm fresh eggs stocked in the fridge that really blew me away. Unfortunately we did not use the eggs as we were only there for two nights and we had plans to be out of the house and exploring the mountains early every morning. The house came with very simple instructions and friendly reminders to ensure we didn’t run into any issues. The views were outstanding!
